Huawei SD-WAN Solution consists of the following layers:
Infrastructure layer
Dynamic Smart Virtual Private Network Ethernet Virtual Privat Network (EVPN) technology is used to build the overlay network. Each CPE supports one or more WAN connections, implementing efficient branch-headquarters interconnection.
iMaster NCE-WAN layer
iMaster NCE-WAN is the core of the SD-WAN Solution. It uniformly manages CPEs/uCPEs, automatically delivers services, and implements unified control of overlay networks. It manages CPEs through the southbound HTTP/2 channel and NETCONF, and uses northbound RESTful interfaces as the SD-WAN Portal to connect to the upper-layer application layer.
Upper-layer application layer
The upper-layer application layer contains carriers' operations support system (OSS)/Business Support System (BSS), third-party portals, third-party orchestration and third-party app stores, and connects to iMaster NCE-WAN through open APIs provided by the SD-WAN controller. An application can connect to iMaster NCE-WAN only when the interconnection message sent by the application complies with the open API definition. If the message sent by the application does not comply with the open API definition, open APIs need to be customized for interconnection between the application and iMaster NCE-WAN.
