Thecamera is facing strong light. When the camera is facing strong light, thebackground model of the motion detection algorithm is unstable due tooverexposure and halo in a large area of the background. As a result, movingobjects cannot be effectively extracted and tracked.
Overexposure
Toimprove the image quality and motion detection performance in this scenario, userscan adjust the exposure parameters, aperture, and camera installation position.
Theimage is too dark. When the ambient illumination is too low, the noise is largeand the image is not clear. In this scenario, the motion detection performance deteriorates. In this case, users need to set the artificial light source for proper lightcompensation and ensure that the whole light is evenly and moderatelydistributed. It is recommended that the motion detection function be used whenthe illuminance is greater than 10 lux.

Thelight source is flickering. In the indoor surveillance scenario at night, the artificiallight sources may be affected by the AC power supply and flicker at the samefrequency as the AC power supply. If a camera does not have the anti-flickerfunction, the captured image flickers. In this scenario, the motion detection performancedeteriorates. Cameras with anti-flicker function are recommended to ensureimage stability.
Inscenarios such as strong light variation, image shaking, and image switching, unstable images may cause the failure to set up a stable background model basedon the motion detection algorithm. As a result, the detection performancedeteriorates sharply.
