As the company I work in is a Transmission service provider , we trust Huawei transmission and depend on its services since 1999 ,  I recommend the Transmission OTN/WDM  OSN6800 .

-Our company launched networks of OSN6800 since 2011 and they still on duty since that time . the distance , environment and Signal quality were really a challenge for this elegant subrack to prove its capabilities , stability and sustainability.

Introduction

-OSN is abbreviation of Optical Switching Network , it is a family of multi services platform ,

OSN6800 is an OTN/DWDM next generation intelligent optical transport platform.

-As It supports multi-granularity OTN cross-connection , ODUk cross-connection, where k can be 1, 2, or 2e .

hybrid transmission

It supports  hybrid transmission of 10 Gbit/s, 40 Gbit/s, and 100 Gbit/s services , so it can be used for small and big networks as aggregation or core layer devices .

On service

long-haul transmission

-OSN 6800 could overcome the problem of the very long distance using Raman amplifier like CRPC the forward and backward .

 practically it works in spans more than 185km with no problems .

- OSN 6800 uses the same subrack to support Electrical and Optical layer , that gives it an advantage as you can use it for electrical cross-connect or for ROADM (Optical -cross-connect).

Protection

-OSN 6800 supports several types of protection in NE level and in Networking level ,

For NE there are boards & power protection :-  The Main boards SCC & Cross connection work in 1+1 hot swappable .

-the power is protected through using PDU that provide 1+1 power , surge and lightening protector , also the AUX board supplies the entire system with the 3.3 V integrated power supply backup .

-n networking field OSN6800 provides intelligent network  protection based on automatically switched optical network (ASON)/generalized multiprotocol label switching (GMPLS) technologies to protect all fibers and services.

- For easy and cheap protection solution , the OLP or DCP boards can be used to provide 1+1 client or channel or line protection .
