Hi team,

Why is the HyperTerminal unable to access the CLI or why is the displayed information incomplete when a maintenance terminal is connected to a storage device using a serial cable and parameters are set correctly?

Thanks.

If the device is working fine, then it might a problem of parameters.
If parameters are also correct then check if you have the right converter and you have the drivers for the converter. Serial cable can also be a problem.
Please verify all the things and let us know if it solved the problem.

Dear Phany,

Possible causes are as follows:

  1. The maintenance terminal uses the USB-to-serial port converter. In this case, use the original serial port of the maintenance terminal.

  2. The serial cable is incompatible. In this case, use the serial cable delivered with the device.

Thanks.

Hi friend!

Analysis
For the ASCII code, the HyperTerminal automatically wraps characters when the length of a row exceeds the width allowed by the terminal. If the information cannot be displayed completely, the attribute of the ASCII code might have been changed.

Solution:
1. Open the Properties interface and then click the Settings tab.
2. Select ASCII Setup... to open the ASCII Setup interface. Select Wrap lines that exceed terminal Width.
