Hello, everyone!
Following is the share about hypermetro solution.
Background
Information technology (IT) is ever-evolving and storage systems are playing an increasingly important role in carrying mission-critical business data in a variety of industries. Service interruptions in storage systems may result in severe economic loss, brand image damage, and critical data loss, especially in the fields of communications, finance, medical care, e-commerce, logistics, and government. Therefore, service continuity is critical to the construction of storage systems. To meet customers' requirements on efficient resource utilization, load balancing, and automatic failover between two data centers (DCs), Huawei launches the end-to-end active-active data center solution.

Key technology-fast write

Traditional solution:
1. Write I/Os experience two interactions at two sites (write command and data transfer).
2. 100 km transfer link: twice round trip time (RTT)
FastWrite:
1. A private protocol is used to combine the two interactions (write command and data transfer). The cross-site write I/O interactions are reduced by 50%.
2. 100 km transfer link: RTT for only once, improving service performance by 25%

Load balancing mode

Cross-array I/O load balancing is achieved in this mode.
This mode is applicable to short-distance deployment scenarios such as the same equipment room.
I/Os are delivered to two storage arrays and storage resources are fully utilized, improving performance.
Preferred array mode

This mode greatly reduces cross-site accesses and the transfer latency.
This mode is applicable to long-distance deployment scenarios.
In UltraPath, the hosts at site A are specified to access the storage array at site A first and the hosts at site B are specified to access the storage array at site B first. I/Os are only delivered to the preferred storage array.
That's all, thanks!
