For WLAN scenario with TWAG , how the connectivity can be done from AP and iMaster NCE campus

  1. For this scenario, do we need physical WLC to connect with TWAG for MAC TAL authentication

  2. Can iMaster NCE support WLC function if we want to integrate TWAG or do we need physical WLC

  3. Which node support for EAP authentication ( WLC or AP communicate with TWAG)

  4. Can you share what devices need to use

I attached some call flows from other supplier, can we achieve same with Huawei devices ( Access component only from Huawei), other TWAG/AAA from other vendor

Hi,
For 1&2, If you use FAT APs, you do not need to configure a WLC. If you use FiT APs, you need to configure the WLC (WAC).
refer to:

https://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=EDOC1100172791&id=EN-US_TOPIC_0159898827&lang=en

3. A WAC can be configured with built-in portal authentication, and the iMaster NCE can also function as the authentication server.

4. The models depend on your application scenario. You can contact Huawei's pre-sales service personnel to recommend the most suitable product for your application scenario.

Thanks for the reply, my question is do we need standalone physical WAC for the deployment when TWAG is there for 4G offload scenario.
iMaster NCE cannot act as a WAC for this scenario or not

Sorry I don't understand how this scenario works. But as I understand, as long as you use FIT APs, a physical WAC is needed to manage the APs. The iMaster NCE supports a wide range of functions, including network service management, network security management, network access management, network monitoring, network quality analysis, network application analysis, alarm management, report management. but it can't be used as WAC.
I suggest you connect Huawei TAC for confirmation.
