This document applies only to install the CentOS 7.8 operating system on a server based on the Cedar Island processor.
The installation consists of the following steps:
1. Preparations Before Installation.
2. Environment configuration.
3. Install the operating system.
Let's take a look at what each step contains.
Preparations Before Installation
Before installing the OS, we need the following tools:
Obtaining the OS Installation Source
Obtain the ISO file you need to install.
Downloading the Driver Package and Driver Mapping Table
Download the drivers from FusionServer iDriver

Preparing Hard Drives
All hard drives on the server are new or formatted.
Environment configuration
1. Login to the BMC, and Change the BOOT mode to UEFI.
2. Login to the BIOS, and set Boot Type to UEF Boot Type.
Note: the default password is Admin@9000.
3. Configure the RAID

Install the CentOS 7.8
There are two scenarios for installing CentOS 7.8 on Cedar Island Platform:
1. Install CentOS 7.8 in UEFI mode
2. Install CentOS 7.8 in Legacy mode
The installation methods are similar. The following uses the UEFI mode as an example.
The steps of install CentOS 7.8 are as follows:
1. Log in to the remote console, and mount the ISO file
2. On the Boot Manager screen, select EFI USB Device(Virtual DVD-ROM VM 1.1.0) and press Enter.
3. Install CentOS as prompted.
