Dears,

I noticed that when I check the output of the command:

display qos queue length interface XGigabitEthernet x/y/z

i found that queue 0 contains some packets are using the buffer with no drop.

the link utilization is 6 Gig so it did not reach the congestion level.

so my question is this normal behavior or not?

and if it is not normal what is the impact and recommendation?

knowing that all 6Gig traffic-related just to queue 0 not to other queues

Thank you in advance

Hi,
You mean why not the packets are forwarded out without entering the queue?
Well, it's normal and you can just ignore that.

Thank you a lot.

yes this exactly what I meant.

I read about it and they call it to burst traffic.

and buffering the traffic can add some delay to the service.

@user_2703297 , can you confirm which transeiver is being used? Is it a Huawei or authorized transceiver?

I already caught some similar problems with unauthorized transceivers, where the use of 70% generated queues and consequently lost packages.

it is Huawei trancevier
10GBASE_SR_SFP

but it shows that there at some seconds around 5k bytes buffered in queue 0

this doesn't lead to dropping yet but I am sure any increase will lead to face tail drop in this queue.

my question about if is it normal to notice some of these bytes inside the queue buffer or should not.
