Huawei S6700 24 EI Switch sudden loss of connectivity at frequent intervals

Hi,


One of my siwtch S6700 24 SI which is connected to another same model switch via 10GiG Trunk Link is lossing connectivity at certain times. Symtops observed is Request time out to Switch Management Port IP or Switch IP. All links connected to the switch goes down. But no issue of port unplug or switch reboot.

The issue started suddenly from 4th Nov. No major changes done. No logs during the abnormal condition too.


What could cause the trouble? Any guide?

Without logs or alarms it is difficult to identify somethink. If you have an active contract, you can open a ticket to analyze this issue. But the first action that I do is upgrade version to last stable version of this equipment. If is a know issue, this action will solve without any other actions.

Unfortunately there is no active contract.
Software is upto date. But patch is not recent. Shall /i update the patch too?

@Srijit hello, does high cpu usage occurred when the switch out of managing?

I added the CPU Monitoring in our NMS 12 hours back. The incident occurred once today. But I could not find any abnormal CPU spikes. Usage is around 11-13%. During the incident lost connectivity to switch.

well, no error log, no abnormal phenomenon, it's kindly advised to contact the TAC to raise the problem, cause some diagnostic information need to be collected, and these information might involve private parts, so it's better to contact the TAC to do that job.

Found out there was TC Notification and thus TC via MSTP received from the branch switch. Had to enable BPDU Filter and Edge Port as of now. But these logs were not there in the log table? Need to enable them manually?

Hi,

By default, only the logs of the level 0~4 are recorded in the log buffer. But the command operation log level is informational(6), which will not be recorded in the log buffer.
