Recently, the industry's leading evaluation organization, Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC), released the latest test results of CPU benchmark test SPEC CPU2006. Huawei FusionServer V5 series breaks four SPEC CPU2006 world records, which underscores the leading performance of Huawei's latest-generation V5 servers.
SPEC CPU2006 is a suite of benchmark applications designed by SPEC to test the CPU subsystem. The benchmark suite is composed of two sets of tests: SPEC CINT2006, which measures and compares the integer computing performance; and CPU FP2006, which measures and compares the floating-point computing performance. Results of these tests are a comprehensive and accurate reflection of the overall server performance, especially with respect to application processing.
The FusionServer V5 series is Huawei's latest generation of server products powered by Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors. The servers have performed excellently in the SPEC CPU2006 benchmark tests. Among them, the 2-socket (one socket means one CPU) FusionServer 1288H V5, 2288H V5 and CH121 V5 servers have scored 83.2 points in the SPECint_base2006 test. The FusionServer CH121 V5 made a score of 158 points in SPECfp_base2006, and the FusionServer 2288H V5 scored 2,800 points and 1,850 points in the SPECint_rate_base2006 and SPECfp_rate_base2006 tests respectively. These integer and floating-point performance test results have broken the SPEC world records for 2-socket servers, setting the Huawei servers apart from other 2-socket servers.

Huawei's latest-generation FusionServer V5 breaking the SPEC test records
The Huawei FusionServer 1288H V5 boasts high computing density, intelligent energy conservation, and ease of use. It is ideal for cloud computing, virtualization, HPC, big data processing and other computing-intensive workloads. The FusionServer 2288H V5 features high storage density and balanced configurations, flexibly adapting to a variety of loads. It is a perfect choice for scenarios such as IT core application, cloud computing, virtualization, high-performance database, and big data processing. The FusionServer CH121 V5 2-socket blade server delivers high-density computing power and ultra-large memory capacity to effortlessly meet virtualization, cloud computing, HPC, and NFV service needs.
The secret behind the superior performance is Huawei's tireless pursuit of the belief to "make computing simple through continuous innovation". Huawei's latest-generation FusionServer V5 comes with five major smart features: Smart Computing, which enables CPU/GPU/FPGA and other heterogeneous computing capabilities that are transparent to applications; Smart Storage, with support for SAS/SATA/NVMe mixed configurations; Smart Networking, offering flexible LOM and converged NIC options; Smart Fault Management, backed by Fault Diagnosis & Management (FDM) for in-depth diagnosis; and Smart Power Management, which leverages Huawei's unique Dynamic Energy Management Technology (DEMT) to deliver new levels of energy efficiency. In this test, powered by the Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors, the Huawei FusionServer V5 series gives full play to the underlying hardware and software synergized optimization. This enables the servers to gain the highest score among the server products running on the same line of processors.
"Huawei's latest-generation FusionServer V5 stands out in the performance test based on the same Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors. This is a testimony to Huawei's competitive differentiation in the hardware and software optimization fronts for servers," said Qiu Long, President, IT Server Product Line, Huawei. "With the increasingly higher requirements of cloud computing, big data and other applications on computing performance, Huawei will continue to provide customers with server products and solutions that enable them to realize the optimal TCO."
According to Gartner's statistics1, as of the first quarter of 2017, Huawei server shipments ranked No. 3 globally. Huawei servers are in use at more than 5,000 customer locations across the world in different industries, including the public sector, Internet, telecom, energy, finance, transport, healthcare, education, media and information, and manufacturing.
