Huawei P10 brightness dimming issue, is there a fix?

Hi, 


I've been having an issue with my Huawei P10 dimming automatically after about 5 seconds. This becomes problematic in sunlight as I can barely see the screen. 


I have switched off automatic brightness and turned the brightness level to maximum but the problem persists. 


I've also tried to reset phone settings and the issue has persisted. 


Is there a fix? The brightness is good when I power on the phone but dulls about 5 seconds later.
