Hello, everyone!
Today, I will continue to share my knowledge about Huawei ONT indicators.

Indicators
Huawei ONTs provide most indicators on the front side, as shown in the following figure.

A Huawei ONT has the following indicators: Power, PON, LOS, and LAN (GE/FE) indicators. ONTs that support voice, USB, Wi-Fi, and CATV functions also have TEL (telephone), USB, Wi-Fi (WLAN), and CATV indicators.
Some ONTs have a Light button on their side. This button is used to turn on/off indicators (turned on by default). Before viewing indicators, ensure that the Light button is on.
1)Normal Indicator Status
| Indicator | Normal Status |
| Power | Steady green: Power is received. |
PON and LOS | PON indicator being steady on and LOS indicator being off: The ONT is connected to an upper-layer device. |
| LAN (FE/GE) | Steady on or blinking: The Ethernet connection is normal |
| TEL | Steady on or blinking quickly: The ONT is connected to a voice server. |
| USB | Steady on or blinking: The USB connection is normal |
| WLAN | Steady on or blinking: Wi-Fi is enabled. |
| CATV | Steady on: The CATV function is enabled |
| WPS | Steady on or blinking: The WPS function is enabled. |
2)Processing upon Abnormality Indication
1. If the PON indicator (for registration) and LOS indicator (for optical signals) are not steady on and off respectively, it is possible that the ONT has no optical signals, the ONT fails to transmit optical signals, or the hardware is faulty. When this occurs, perform the following procedure:
a. Check whether the optical fiber is securely connected.
Ensure that one end of the optical fiber is connected to the rear side of the ONT, and the other end is on the wall or in a weak-current box, as shown in the following figure.

b. Restart the ONT.
Press the ON/OFF button on the side of the ONT to shut down the ONT. A few seconds later, turn on the ONT.
c. If the abnormality persists, contact your carrier or ISP by its service hotline and request installation and maintenance personnel for help.
2. If the LAN (GE/FE) indicator is off, no Ethernet connection is set up. When this occurs, perform the following procedure:
a. Check whether a cable is securely connected to the Ethernet port.
Remove and then insert cables into the ONT's network ports (LAN/FE/GE) and to the network port of the computer.
b. Restart the ONT.
Press the ON/OFF button on the side of the ONT to shut down the ONT. A few seconds later, turn on the ONT.
c. If the abnormality persists, contact your carrier or ISP by its service hotline and request installation and maintenance personnel for help.
3. If the WLAN indicator is off, the Wi-Fi function is disabled. When this occurs, perform the following procedure:
Press and hold down the WLAN button on the side of the ONT for more than 5 seconds to enable Wi-Fi.
That's all for today's basic knowledge sharing.
