Huawei ONT Basics(11)-ONT and Antennas Placement

Hello, everyone!

In the access network forum, many people pay close attention to ONT.

To improve wireless network utilization and expand wireless network coverage, it is recommended to place ONT equipment and antennas as follows.

ONT placement

1. In a one-floor house, confirm the positions where the Wi-Fi network is frequently used.

Scenes

Note

- Place the ONT in a room if you use Wi-Fi connections only in the room.

- Put the ONT in the middle of different rooms if the user requires Wi-Fi coverage in all these rooms.

Position selection to minimize through the wall or obstacles

2. In a multi-floor house, put the ONT on the middle floor.

Install repeaters to ensure that every storey of a villa or apartment having multiple rooms can be covered by Wi-Fi signals.

ONT placement height and distance

Recommended installation height: ≥ 1 m (distance between the ONT and floor)	Distance between the ONT and nearby wall:≥ 30 cm (ensuring enough space around the ONT when the ONT is horizontally placed)

Antennas placement

1. For a one-floor house

2. For apartments of two stories or more

The ONT is not in the current floor	The ONT is in every floor
