Hi all,

We have a network deployed with a Dasan Zhone MXK 319 & 2426A ONTs. This is an inherited system that we got when we purchased a network. We are having endless problems with Zhone and want to migrate all of the customers to good old trusty Huawei :)

However, it would be costly to move ~ 180 customers at once to Huawei and we would like to phase this in. One way is to move all of the Zhone devices to the Huawei OLT. We have the interprobility license installed for third party ONTs however we are stuck in getting the actual final config to work.We are able to register the Zhone ONT to the Huawei OLT but cannot push any PPPoE config via U2000. Has anyone been able to achieve this or have some advice for us to work with?

Hello, friend!

Confirmed:

The interoperability license only ensures that third-party ONTs can go online on Huawei OLTs. But it doesn't support Huawei OLT and NMSs configure services on third-party devices.

Therefore, the PPPoE configuration issued by the U2000 to the third-party ONT cannot take effect.

You can only manually configure services on third-party ONTs. The interworking license only ensures that ONT services can be transmitted.

Thanks!

Hello,

We recommend that you use Huawei OLT and ONT products at the same time. This will not cause more trouble. If you have any questions, please contact the local Huawei representative office.

Please refer to the following two links, which are introduced in great detail.

You are welcome! My friend!
Hello,

I may be a bit late on this one but why not discuss these endless problems with DZS and perhaps the DASAN Zhone team can get you on track with your new system.
