Huawei' Next-Generation S6720-SI Multi-Rate Switch in Commercial Use for the First Time

Huawei today announced the commercial use of next-generation multigigabit Ethernet switch S6720-SI in China higher education institutions, becoming the first vendor to put 2.5G switches into commercial use in China.

Huawei‘s next-generation multigigabit S6720-SI switch fills the gap for 2.5G/5G switches in the Chinese market. Huawei S6720-SI has the industry's most abundant interfaces, providing GE/2.5G/5G/10G multigigabit rates that meet the high-bandwidth demand of 802.11ac high-speed wireless access points (APs). The switch enables enterprises to quickly double network performance using existing cables without extra investment. In addition, the S6720-SI supports PoE++ technology, featuring a best-in-class power supply distance of up to 200 m, allowing for interconnection between various terminals and APs in IoT scenarios. The S6720-SI is ideal in scenarios such as access for high-speed wireless devices, and campus network access or aggregation, meeting the current network requirements and protecting customer investment.

Huawei also delivers the cost-effective multigigabit switch S5720-28X-PWH-LI. It supports flexible combination of GE and 2.5G interfaces, meeting bandwidth upgrade requirements of different types of customers.
