When the BRAS redirects a user to the web authentication page, the user enters the user name and password. The BRAS encapsulates the user name and password into a RADIUS packet and sends the packet to the RADIUS server. The RADIUS server checks the user name and password and returns the RADIUS authentication result. If the authentication succeeds, the user enters the web authentication domain and can access the network.

you mean you want to authenticate users local but authentication page pushed to the users is implemented on the external portal server?

there is no special requirements for the portal server, you can build the portal server yourself, and it seems Huawei don't provide the corresponding files.

as in your situation, the NE40E should work as a RADIUS server, which NE40E cannot. So, it's impossible to authenticate the users locally with external portal server.

@anush3d no, it could work with NE40E, but you need an individual RADIUS server to authenticate the users since NE40E cannot work as a RADIUS server.
