I own Huawei MediaPad AGS-W09 wifi version ( no sim ). Tablet worked normaly with Android 7 / EMUI 5 installed.
Recently, I updated my tablet to EMUI 8, Android 8.
Tablet started to lagging after first startup and I will describe you what is happening:
Sometimes Screen Unlock works normaly ( Slide to unlock ) and tablet is functionaling without a problems.
In that case, I'm using device like there is nothing wrong.
Then, out of nowhere, Screen Unlock starts to lag, and it looks like unresponsive touch gesture.
I need to Slide several times on screen until it unlocks. Then, tablet becomes unusable. Everything is lagging and freezing.
Next thing is to force restart ( holding unlock button for 10 sec ).
Device stucks on MediaPad logo on startup until I touch the screen. Then recovers itself and startup normaly untill Screen Unlock. Then I have problem with Slide, problem with using a tablet ... In the meantime, tabled started to working normaly. And then problem shows again....
This is a random cycle. There is no rules. It's a random problem that started after updating to Android/EMUI 8.
Just to mention, tablet is looking like a new. No scratches, never felt on hard surfaces, touchscreen is not broken, etc. ( without any damage )
I tried hard reset 3 times, nothing has changed. No updates avaiable from update menu.
Lateset Security patch is 1. November. 2020. Android 8.0.0, EMUI 8.0.0
The question is:
Is there any way to fix this? Is there a way to downgrade tablet to Android 7 / EMUI 5?
I'm guessing this is a software issue, not a hardware one ( becouse Touchscreen is responsive until I lock device screen ).
I did factory reset 3 times, disabled few unnecessary pre-installed apps, defrag device with built-in software, disabled battery saver mode, set resolution to full, and everything else I could do from the system.
I have not found any solution to this.
