Hello, dear.

You can refer to the following information to set corresponding alarms to monitor KPIs.

ALM-40001 PM Monitor KPI Counter Threshold Alarm Warning

Description

In a performance monitoring task, you can set performance monitoring thresholds for the monitoring counters of a certain monitoring object. The performance monitoring thresholds define the normal deviation ranges against the experience values, which help you to monitor the abnormal situations of this counter. If the performance monitoring counter values of an NE consecutively exceed the defined normal threshold range multiple times after a performance monitoring task is performed, the M2000 reports the corresponding performance monitoring threshold alarm. If the NE performance monitoring counter values are within the normal threshold for multiple consecutive times, the M2000 automatically clears the corresponding performance monitoring threshold alarm.

icon-note.gif NOTE:

You can set the number of times the counter values exceed the predefined value range, which triggers the corresponding performance monitoring threshold alarm, and the severities of performance monitoring threshold alarms on the M2000. For details, see Setting Performance Monitoring KPI Thresholds. In addition, you can set the rules for shielding performance monitoring threshold alarms. For details, see Setting Rules for Masking Performance Monitoring Threshold Alarms.

Parameters

NameMeaning

TaskId

ID of a performance monitoring task. IDs of performance monitoring tasks are automatically generated by the M2000. You can view the IDs on the Monitor Task tab page in the Performance Monitor window. The IDs are enclosed in brackets after the task names. For example, MonitoringTask(1234).

Mon-Object

Monitoring object names corresponding to performance monitoring thresholds.

Mon-Counter

Performance monitoring counter names corresponding to performance monitoring thresholds.

Result_StartTime

Time for reporting performance monitoring results. If the monitoring period of a task is one minute, the time for reporting performance monitoring results is the NE time. If the monitoring period of a task is not one minute, the time is the M2000 time. For details about the default monitoring periods supported by NEs, see Setting NE Performance Monitoring Periods.

Value

Value of the performance monitoring counter when an alarm is triggered/cleared.

ExpValue

Empirical value of the performance monitoring counter when an alarm is triggered/cleared.

Upper-Warp

Maximum offset set in the performance monitoring threshold.

Lower-Warp

Minimum offset set in the performance monitoring threshold.

Alarm Level

Threshold alarm severity set in the performance monitoring threshold.

Impact on the System

If a performance monitoring threshold alarm is generated, it indicates that the value of the required performance monitoring counter exceeds the threshold. In such a case, you need to evaluate the possible impacts on the system.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

Determine the causes based on the monitored objects and monitoring counters corresponding to the performance monitoring threshold.

Procedure

  1. Locate TaskIdMon-ObjectMon-CounterValueExpValueUpper-Warp, and Lower-Warp in the alarm information, determine the causes of performance exceptions, and then handle the alarm.

You can query the details of a monitoring task by viewing its TaskId. For details about how to query the information about performance monitoring tasks, see Viewing the Information About an Existing Performance Monitoring Task.
