Recently, Huawei announced in the Ultra-Broadband Forum 2014 that they will reinforce research
and development in the field of fixed broadband. In the next three years, to
build a better broadband network, Huawei is expected to invest more than four
billion dollars in fixed broadband technologies, products and solutions.
In the direction of the
fixed broadband technology research, Huawei will continue to broaden the
pipeline capacity, research and develop and innovate in chip, algorithms and laser
etc. based technologies. In the field of IP and optical transport, Huawei will focus
on 1T and ultra-1T technology to provide larger capacity IP and optical network
equipment and improve network carrying capacity; In access network area, Huawei
is about to enhance broadband access capabilities in providing G, 10G bit-level
access for users. Meanwhile, Huawei will continue to innovate in SDN / NFV and
other next-generation emerging technologies to improve network efficiency; In
next-generation network, Huawei will concentrate on research in key
technologies and architecture innovation of IP and all-optical networking to lead
the development of next-generation fixed broadband networks.
