Huawei HG8546M locked functions

  HiCoins as reward: 0 (problem unresolved)

Good night, I'm Brazilian, I will use the translator:

The provider let me access your Huawei ONT fiber modem, first time I see one.

But I noticed that there are locked functions (remote access), although activated in the check box.

My question is, is there a superuser role with administrative power? If there is no use I change the password, I do not want anyone entering my network, not even the provider, in this case I will put another router with another WAN.

PS: I missed the model, the forum does not allow editing, model is HG8546M

It's not have super password

There are two ways to manage and configure the HG8546M.

One is configured locally through a computer or mobile terminal, using an administrator password.

The other is a network operator remote configuration, no password is required. But they provide you with network services. Without the ability to view your private information, you can rest assured.

Therefore, you only need to change the local management password and wireless password.

To prevent other people, such as your device provider or your neighbors from accessing your network, the solution is to not install WIFI sharing software on your access terminal. This software will automatically leak your password. Do not allow it. Don't go to your home to factory settings for your device. If you have made factory settings for your device, please change the default password in time.

Hello, please check the nameplate on the back of the device.

password

After login, change the password. If you want to manage the Wi-Fi password, open the following link:

You do not understand, I have login and password, but it has locked functions, this fiber modem is in my house, we call here "in lending" because the modem is borrowed by the provider.

I want to know why it has locked functions.

The locking function is the right of carriers to configure devices at the remote end, which may restrict certain functions. The purpose is to facilitate maintenance and management.
Hi dear,
Sorry for I don't understand your point, do you mean that what the superuser role with administrator permission is?
In addition, are you sure that your device is HG6546M? as far as I know, there is not this product in Huawei ONT.

Hello, my question is, is there a superuser password and user password? So I know that the provider gave me the user password, if the provider has superuser password he has access power, even if I change the password, I do not want it because I am vulnerable, in this case I will go to another router in another range of IP. I will isolate the provider from my DHCP.

I messed up, the forum won't let me change the title, model is HG8546M

@liqiang185

Your answer was quite enlightening, if you are absolutely sure you have no superuser password I will be more relieved.

But I still have questions, for example, in "Device Access Control" is blocked, but enabled, I wanted to see the access port, the provider must have the port configured (I know he already accessed until knew my SSID name) , the question is ... how is the unlocking process? I have the unique password (already changed), what is left for me to unlock this and other functions inside it?

@SimPos

I think that your device is a customized device provided by the carriers. Some functions are restricted. For example, the modification of access control is fixed by the providers before they give it to you. The solution is to contact the carrier, ask them to initialize the device on the remote OLT (back up data before initializing the device) and apply for unlocking all the locked devices.

Dear friends, you want to link to the Internet, but to achieve absolute security, this is not possible, we can only reduce security risks as much as possible. (As if you put the money in the house, it is possible to be stolen; if deposited in the bank, but the bank may also be bankrupt)

If you find that your device provider or network operator has leaked your information or violated your rights, you can complain to their leader. But because of professional standards, they don't usually do that.

@liqiang185 I understand that it comes modified from the provider, it is for corporate purposes, but I was wondering how the process of blocking functions in the firmware is done, because the equipment I suppose comes to the buyer fully open and disabled.

Which tool modifies the firmware of this Huawei model?

I understand that the firmware is customized, customization starts with a procedure, what would the change procedure be? The provider is the one who must have done the customization, so he can change when necessary, I also want to learn how to do it.

I've seen how a preset TP-Link works, you download the backup, then edit it from the command line.

But I can't find anywhere in Huawei
