HiCoins as reward: 0 (problem unresolved)

Hello, there!

I have  Huawei echoLife HG8145V5 GPON Terminal (CLASS B+/PRODUCT), provided by a local ISP (Airtel), I recently purchased a TPLINK range extender RE305 v3.  I see that the second Band 5GHz is not getting recognized by the extender. I see that it detects my neighbor's router :(   Not this.

This is supposed to be a very simple option, my bad this does not work for me. Am I supposed to configure anything on my router? The 2.4GHz band works fine though I see the speed is not that great I want to fix the first issue then jump to this later.    Any help advice here will be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello, friend!

According to your description, all terminals are connected to dual-band Wi-Fi. The RE205V1 device only displays 2.4Ghz WIFI, but does not display 5Ghz WiFi.

I think there is no problem with the HG8245V5 equipment itself.

If you have any questions, log in to the HG8245V5 web interface. In the navigation tree on the left, choose System Information > WLAN Information. Then, in the pane on the right, you can query the information such as Wi-Fi port status, Wi-Fi packet statistics and SSID.

You are advised to contact the TP-Link device provider for a solution. Thanks!

Thank you , I am talking to TP Link as well on this . Just a correction the it is RE305 V3 and to let you know I see that there are other routers which are in my neighborhood are getting detected but for my router , just wondering if i have missed some thing basic. I saw one thread who mentioned to change the channel to 1 from automatic, but that is disabled in my router. Thanks for your reply though :)

Hello,

If you create a bridge WAN interface to bind the LAN and WiFi to the WAN interface, it may work as one AP, but not sure if it can work with no problem.

If you need an extender, you can use the latest new dual frequency WiFi ONT with the specified AP to extend your WiFi. For example WA8011Y.

Thanks

HI, Thanks the one what i have is a dual frequency WIFI ONT. If not extender i see both the corresponding 2.4GHZ & 5GHZ SSID getting published and i am able to connect those directly but the new extender does not see the 5GHz SSID.
