Huawei HG8245C - need to reset router after disconnections to make ethernet/LAN work

HiCoins as reward: 0 (problem unresolved)

Hello, I've been having an odd issue with this model. The internet connection works fine but if there is any disconnection from the ISP side then whenever the router reconnects, wifi works (I can browse internet on mobiles, etc) but LAN/ethernet doesn't and I have to manually reset the router (turn it off for 3 seconds then turn it on again) to make it work.

I've already asked my ISP and they changed it to different unit but it seems this one has this issue as well and they too don't know anything about it.

Hi, friend!

I found similar issues with this model:

After a few HG8245Cs are used in a damp environment for a long time, the HG8245Cs may be restored to factory settings or restarted.

Solution:
This issue can be effectively resolved by optimizing the button switch detection signal. Upgrade the live network to V300R013C10SPC121 or later. To ensure version normalization and back-end maintenance, it is recommended that this version be normalized to the baseline version V300R015C10SPC120.

You can apply for the firmware from your ISP. Because the ONT is customized by the carrier, the ISP has the corresponding permission to download the firmware.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Can you explain a bit more, what exactly is the "Button switch detection signal"? I'm actually interested in what's actually causing this. Or is it just a buggy firmware issue and needs to be restored to a specific version as you mentioned.

I am sorry! My friend
After the iPhone with iOS 14.0.0 version connects to the Wi-Fi network, the iPhone will send DNS packets aggregated by the A-MSDU. When the bridge WAN is bound to the SSID, the forwarding module of the ONT earlier than V300R016C00 does not support the aggregation packets. As a result, the ONT reboot due to an internal parsing exception.

The current firmware version of the device does not support this function,
The device is upgraded to the specified firmware version, this problem can be solved.
Note that the HG8245C has reached EOS.

This is the result of an experiment with iOS systems and devices.
According to the preceding description, the previous version has some defects, but the problem is solved by upgrading the firmware.

Dear friend!
Check whether the DHCP configuration is correct. Or the configuration on your device does not match the configuration of the remote OLT. I suggest you contact your ISP to reissue the configuration template for you.

Thanks!

DHCP server is configured fine, I guess. Not much to look at. Lease time is set to 3 days and Option125 and DHCP Relay is checked.

OK, you can also ask the ISP to perform a comparison test with a device of the same model to see if the configuration is incorrect or the software is defective.
