My name is Ernesto Lopez, I am from Cuba and I would like to share with you my experiences with Huawei Certifications.
I am a Telecommunication Engineer with 10 years’ experience with IT&IP equipment’s and RTN 900 microwave products. I work for a Huawei costumer. Before know Huawei I worked with some Dell, Cisco and HP network products.
My first Huawei product?
That was a Quidway AR 28-09 router and i felt very comfortable with it.
The biggest project?
The biggest project with Huawei product i have ever been involved in was a Modular Data Center installation with IDS2000 solution. That was really challenging due to all the knowledge areas that make up the solution. That robbed me of many hours of sleep dedicated to studying.
How I got certified? (Take the opportunity when it comes)
I live in a blocked country so there is not Huawei Training or Certification Center. Two years ago, there was a special opportunity arranged by Huawei Regional Office for certify a number of costumers engineers and make the test at the local Huawei Office. I taked the chance without thinking and prepared myself in less than one month. So, through this way I could finally got two Huawei Certification (HCIA-R&S and HCIA-WLAN).
How I prepared my Certification Exam
First, there is a lot of content in the HEDEX documentation library. Huawei Documentation is very well organized and the information is not only about the product but also the protocols and solutions involved with each product.
Use the ENSP Network Simulator for be familiar with the product if you have not access to a real device and if you want to test different configurations. It is a great tool and it was a great surprise when I discovered.
Be in touch and participate at the Huawei Enterprise Support Community. There you can find a lot of content, share your knowledge and ask for help if you have a question about Huawei products and solutions.
