Hello Everyone. My name is Gowtham and I am working as a Network and security engineer for one of the IT solution provider companies in Qatar. I am having overall 5 years of technical experience.
How do I Know Huawei?
We are a big organization in Qatar and as a part of the implementation of one of our in-house projects, my presales engineer proposed Huawei Solution.
So, 5 years back I don’t know much about Huawei's enterprise business.
First experience working with Huawei:
The first piece of equipment I work with Huawei is the S5700 Series switch.
Believe me, when I saw the switch the first time, I am really surprised about the look. It really looks great with Black and silver color. and nicely colored ports (yellow for Fiber and blue for Copper).
Usually, I have experience with other brand switches, so I am familiar with Cisco and HPE, Alcatel commands.
It’s hard to believe that Huawei commands are much easier and easy to remember.
Whenever I type “Display” I am always excited to see what else I can see in my switch.it is fun to run commands and see what is happening with your network switch.
Setting up a Huawei switch is easier.
Later I inquired about the Price and I surprised after knowing the switch prices.
It is really cheap when compared to other vendors and robust hardware.
I am using all Huawei switches for last 5 years and so far I never faced any hardware or network issues.
Why do I think Huawei certification is valuable?
I understand that in networking only two vendors are competitive.
Cisco and Huawei. They both have their own Protocols developed to give better performance to their network switches.
Huawei and Cisco have their own proprietary protocols. Other vendors follow these protocols.
It is clear that both CISCO and HUAWEI certifications are valuable for your knowledge and career.
As I am already having experience with network switches I am interested to take HCIA R&S certification first and know more about their operating system, VRP (versatile routing platform) is one of the best platforms I worked with.
So, I started digging about Huawei certifications and the levels.

How did I get HCIA R&S Certificate?
so, after knowing more about Huawei’s certifications, I interested to take the HCIA R&S exam as a startup.
For the training, I am already having good core skills in networking and protocols. Still, I understand that it is required to take the course from Huawei to get better results.
So, I log in to this link and enrolled myself for training. Huawei training is free of cost. No need to spend money to get knowledge. thanks to Huawei’s team.

I know other vendors will charge for training also, even it is online. But Huawei provided best documents and training videos without any cost.
so I started taking the courses and completed them within 3 days.
After completing the course, I got confident that I can easily pass the exam with 99% score.
So I attended to the exam and started answering the question.
Ha hah hah it is not easy. Questions are too difficult to answer. After finish the exam i afraid that I will fail. But I got passed with an exact passing score.
Finally, after some time I have received my certificate.
It really looks great with a red frame and an awesome HUAWEI HCIA Logo.
How did I get the HCIA Security certificate?
After doing HCIA R&S, I more interested in Huawei products and started exploring them. Later I understand that Huawei is into the firewall business also. So, I thought of placing Huawei firewalls into our business and it is great success.
Later I wanted to take a Security certificate and did the same Huawei recommended training and finished it in 2 days.

How did I get Huawei WLAN Certificate?
After doing two certifications, it is no wonder that you want to do more. It is really positive energy.
So, I work wireless projects also. We use Huawei Wi-Fi 6 AP’s Air engine series.
As I told before, same way I prepared for WLAN course form Huawei and did the exam.
Here is my WLAN Certificate from Huawei.
Apart from Huawei certificates, I am having more certificates from Cisco, HPE, VMware, Avaya, Fortinet, SonicWALL, Sophos.
now I am preparing for HCIP R&S and hopefully will get it soon.
