Today, I will finish writing about the Huawei campus optiX solution. In this last article, I will explain and show application scenarios. This is the future for campus networks. Let’s get started.
The Huawei campus OptiX solution or IP+POL solution can use in many application scenarios such as airports, hotels, education centers, companies, hospitals, etc.
Education/Hospital
It is widely used in educational centers and hospitals. In the main equipment room, there is a core switch, OLT, NMS server, etc. One OLT PON port is typically divided into 32. There are usually 2 levels of sharing, but this depends on the building. One fiber is provided, ie one ONU device per room. ONU has interfaces to provide all necessary services. All parts of the education center or hospital are covered by the WiFi network. The use of WiFi 6 standards provides good coverage and sufficient data transfer speeds. The next figure shows the application of the Huawei solutions in educational centers and hospitals.

Hotel
The use of Huawei campus optiX solutions in hotels can also be very large. There are great savings in material, time, and money by using this modern solution. The number of cables is significantly reduced, e.g. for a traditional campus solution it takes 2100 pcs for horizontal cabling and 75 pcs for vertical cabling, the campus optiX solution uses 300 pcs for horizontal cabling and 15 pcs for vertical cabling, which just makes great savings.
The main equipment is located in the main equipment room, in each room, there is an ONU device with interfaces that provide all the necessary services.
In Figure 2. we can see the Huawei solution for the hotel. One optical fiber now replaces 4 copper cables, as we can see in Figure 3.

Airport
There is a similar story at the airport. The IP+POL solution used offers enormous possibilities and at the same time reduces overall costs. The result is a network that will be able to be used in the future with minimal upgrades. The next two images show the application of Huawei campus optiX solutions at airports.
