Today, I'd like to introduce Huawei BBU to you.
What is a BBU?
The BBU is a component of a distributed base station. It provides the following functions:
Centrally manages the entire base station system, including operation and maintenance, signaling processing, and system clock.
Processes uplink and downlink baseband data and provides CPRI ports for communicating with RF modules.
Provides physical interfaces between the base station and the transport network for information exchange.
Provides the OM channel to connect to the OMC.
Provides a communication interface with the environmental monitoring device to receive and forward signals from the environmental monitoring device.
BBU Model
BBU includes BBU3900, BBU3910, BBU5900, BBU5900A, BBU3910A and BBU3910C.

Introduction to an Outdoor BBU
1. The BBU3910A and BBU3910C feature integrated design. All the mode, capacity, and Signaling Specifications must be configured on the software interface. They do not support capacity expansion. If a module is faulty, the entire module must be replaced.
2. The BBU5900A houses boards of different functions and specifications to meet customers' requirements for mode, capacity, and signaling specifications. It supports board capacity expansion, board replacement and BBU subrack replacement.
