How to use the WPS function of an HG659?
ANSWER
1. The default IP address of HG659 is generally 192.168.1.1. Enter the IP address in the address bar of your browser.
2. Enter the default login account and password of HG659 and click Log in.
Username: user;
Password: HuaweiUser.
3. In the navigation tree, choose Home Network > WLAN Access > WLAN WPS. In the pane on the right, enable the WPS function of the HG659.
4. Under the expanded WPS configuration menu, select the WPS mode you want to use.
WPS by push button (PBC): enable the WPS function by pressing the WPS button on the HG659. Click Save.
WPS by client PIN (PIN): get the pin code from a pin client and then enter the pin code in the PIN text box. Click Connect.
WPS by AP-PIN (AP-PIN): click the PIN to get the pin code and then enter the pin code in the text box on the pin client. Click Save.
You are advised to use WPS by push button (PBC).
Press the WPS button once to quickly set up a wireless connection between the HG659 and any WPS-capable device. The detailed operation procedure is as follows:
1. Before you set up a wireless connection using the WPS button, verify the following:
The wireless network security mode of the HG659 is WPA2-PSK or WPA-PSK+WPA2-PSK.
The wireless device (laptop, tablet, or mobile phone) to connect to the HG659 is WPS-capable.
2. Press the WPS button on the wireless device to start the WPS negotiation. For details, see the user guide for the wireless device.
3. Within 2 minutes, press and hold the WPS button on the HG659 for 1 second. The WLAN indicator blinks.
