Hi there, Community!
This post explains how to use the eTrans link tool for the first time to transfer files from customer to TAC. Please read below for more details.
UPLOADING AND DOWNLOADING FILES
Uploading files
The uploader will receive an email with upload link sent by the eTrans system. As shown in the figure below:

Click Click here to access the upload interface in the eTrans system (for Notes mails, you are recommended to use the IE browser to open the link, rather than the built-in browser of Notes). It needs to be noted that the files must be uploaded before the time stated in the email (i.e. This URL will be valid within xxx xxx). Otherwise, the link cannot be used to upload files. The perfect security mechanism of the eTrans system ensures that the link you receive is unique, time-limited, and cannot be forged.
Installing the browser plug-in
If you are using eTrans on your computer for the first time, the system would prompt you to install the eTrans browser plug-in, as shown in the figure below. Follow the prompts to install it.
Recommended browser: Windows Internet Explorer 8 or later.

The installation page is displayed as follows:

Uploading files
If you have Silverlight installed on the browser, the following page is displayed:

Click Select Upload to upload files. By default, the files will be uploaded immediately after being selected. Upon the completion of upload, the file will be displayed in the File List.

The list of uploading tasks is displayed on the page.

100% in the Percent field means that the file has been uploaded. The MD5 Code of the file is calculated during uploading and displayed on the page upon the completion.
If you have several files to upload, repeat the above steps. The resumable file transfer is supported. When you have uploaded all the files, click Confirm. If you want to go to the next stage automatically after upload, click Confirm before the completion of uploading. The eTrans records the file list and carries out transferring. After that the application form will go to the next stage (director approval or remote transferring, and download notification). The application form will go to the next stage only after you click Confirm, so that you can add files to be uploaded any time within the validity term.
If you close the page without clicking Confirm, the following prompt will be displayed. You can click Cancel to return to the page.

Resumable file transfer
What if the network is interrupted or shut down due to some reasons during uploading? That's where the function of resumable file transfer comes into play.
In the following figure, the upload is interrupted at 35.7%.

You can click the upload link in the email again within the validity term. As shown in the figure below.

The unfinished files will be loaded automatically. At the beginning 0% is displayed in the Percent field, but the system will calculate the finished part and start to transfer from the unfinished part after you click Start. The progress bar is red when the system is calculating the finished part, and it will turn blue during normal uploading. The following figure shows that the system is calculating the finished part.

ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS
The upload/download interface cannot be opened, an empty interface is displayed, or any other error messages are displayed after Sliverlight is installed.
1. Check that all Internet explorer windows are closed. If any is left open, close it and then click the upload/download link again.
2. If the same error occurs after all Internet explorer windows are closed, open the Control Panel and check if Silverlight of another version (for example, 4.0 or 3.0) has been installed. If there is, uninstall all the Silverlight versions, click the upload/download link, and then install Silverlight again.
3. eTrans supports only IE 8.0 and later versions. Other browsers such as MYIE, Maxthon, 360, and Google Chrome are not supported.
