Hello everyone,

I have a problem with the new s6730. By default, some versions come with 40GE interfaces, I can use this interfaces normally. But, I have the 100GE license and I activated them with the command "assign port-speed 100ge slot 0".

The command cannot be enabled by interface, just all or by slot.

[swtmpls]assign port-speed ?
  100ge  100GE

[swtmpls]assign port-speed 100ge ?
  all   All slots
  slot  Slot

I need to use 4 ports in 100GE and 2 ports in 40GE, how can I do that? I believe that the interface have auto negotiation in 40GE or 100GE, but this is not working. Can I force the port speed?

And referring to port split, is it possible to do? The Hedex says that s6730 does not have port split and the command does not exist in the terminal. It's like that: port split split-type 100GE:1*40GE or port split split-type 40GE:4*XGE.

Resume:

1) How to force port speed in 100GE interfaces.

2) It's possible to use port split cables in 100GE interface?

Hi,
Yes, once license is activated, port will act as 100GE until/unless manually configured otherwise as it can't support auto-negotiate so it will work as 100GE only.

Hi@vagkaefer
On the S6730-H24X6C (part number: 02352FSG) and S6730-H48X6C (part number: 02352FSF), the default rate of QSPF28 interfaces is 40 Gbit/s. To use QSPF28 interfaces as 100GE interfaces, contact the equipment supplier to apply for and purchase a license. After activating the license, run the assign port-speed 100GE command to change the maximum rate of QSPF28 interfaces to 100 Gbit/s. To change the maximum rate of QSPF28 interfaces from 100 Gbit/s to 40 Gbit/s, run the undo assign port-speed 100GE command. This command configuration takes effect only after the device is restarted.

Hello Jason_hu, tks for the answer. I had seen this, but in the text it refers to the maximum, by logic should only raise the limit, not disable the 40GE.

Hi,vagkaefer!
Question 1:The 100GE interface does not support auto-negotiation and works in full-duplex mode. After the license is activated, the rate of the interface is 100GE.
Question 2:The S6370 does not support port splitting or split 100GE ports by splitting cables.

Hi DDSN, thanks for the answer. Just to confirm: If I enable the 100GE, I can't use 40GE, correct? To use 40GE, I need to downgrade the interfaces?

Just an update to everyone : https://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=EDOC1100101074&id=EN-US_CONCEPT_0177101889&lang=en

- On the S6730-H24X6C (part number: 02352FSG) and S6730-H48X6C (part number: 02352FSF), the default rate of QSPF28 interfaces is 40 Gbit/s. After activating the license, run the assign port-speed 100GE command to change the maximum rate of QSPF28 interfaces to 100 Gbit/s. .

- On the S6730-H24X6C (part number: 02353GFC) and S6730-H48X6C (part number: 02353FWL), by default, the license has been loaded, and the rate of QSPF28 interfaces is 100 Gbit/s.

- After a 40GE optical module or 40GE high-speed cable is installed on a 100GE interface, the interface can work at the rate of 40 Gbit/s.

This works with the right QSFPs
