Hello, everyone!
I would like to share with all of you the following post about “How to upgrade NE software from U2000 or NCE” step by step. So let’s start!
1. We have to generate e.g. the “datacenter” user in the NEs whose software we want to upgrade. We open the menu "NE User Management".

2. We select the NEs that we want to upgrade and create for them the “datacenter” user defined as it appears as follows:

3. Once the “datacenter” user has been created, we have to tell the Data Center (the U2000/NCE module that implements the upgrade tasks) to use it. To do this, you must open the following window:

4. We go to the “DC Login User Management” tab and select the NEs that interest us on the left side, and change the “Current NE User” to “datacenter”:

Finally, this is how it has to be displayed:

5. Now we can create the upgrade task. We need to open the upgrade screen in the U2000/NCE:

In the upgrade screen, we choose the “Package Upgrade/Downgrade Task…” option:

and in the window that opens, we choose the NEs that we want to upgrade and we click “Query”:

If the “Status” of all NEs is “Normal”, we click “Next” and in the window that opens we select the target version, uncheck “Force to load select GNE through: FTP” and mark the “Custom package”:

We click “Next” until we have the task created:

6. Now we click to the “Start Task” and we must wait until the task ends showing “Operation success”:

If we haven’t removed the pauses that are set by default before certain steps of the task, we will have to click “Continue Task” until it is finished. The most comfortable way, if the NEs don’t have traffic, is to remove all pauses when configuring all the operations of the task.
The performance of this process is the same in NCE.
That's all. I hope this guide helps you, dear friends.
Thank you!
