The display tcp status command is used only for locating TCP-related problems, especially BGP, LDP, FTP, and Telnet disconnections. You can run the display tcp status command to view the current TCP status when TCP functions as the transmission protocol.

Before viewing the TCP status, you need to know the roles of both ends of the TCP connection, that is, which end is the client and which end is the server. Generally, the server adopts a well-known port number. For example:
BGP port number: 179
LDP port number: 646
FTP port number: 20 or 21
Telnet port number: 23
<HUAWEI> display tcp status--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pid/SocketID Local Addr:Port Foreign Addr:Port VPNID State
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
0x80C8272D/2 0.0.0.0:23 0.0.0.0:0 4294967295 LISTEN
0x80932727/6 0.0.0.0:22 0.0.0.0:0 4294967295 LISTEN
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The preceding information shows that there are two TCP connections, of which one are Telnet connections which 0.0.0.0:23 functions as the Telnet server, and one is FTP connection.
