How to slove RTN adaptive Modulation Alarm : AM_DOWNSHIFT?

   I'd like to share  how to RTN Adaptive Modulation Alarm:: AM _ DOWNSHIFT

Let's know

• Alarm Description,

• Probable Causes,

• Procedure for Solving and Conclusion

The Alarm occurs when AM ( Adaptive Modulation ) scheme is downshifted from the highest Efficiency Scheme into the Lower Efficiency Scheme Means that there is degradation in time slot ( E1s - Channels ) Frame and it leads us we have abnormal in Situation for the signal

Notice That :

1.  If the AM is upshifted from Lower Efficiency into highest Efficiency that means that AM is good

2. During the alarm, The Transmission Capacity is reduced

Causes of Alarm:

1. Climate Which Cause the Degradation of the Working Channels

2. Interference around the Working Channels

3. ODU ( Out Door Unit ) of Transmitter has abnormal transmit Power

4. ODU ( Out Door Unit ) of Receiver has abnormal receiver Power

How to Solve the AM_ DOWNSHIFT?

• We should Measure to handle the alarm till the Downshift of AM scheme is normal

• We have to eliminate the interference

• Use NMS ( Network Management system to access the Node remotely to verify the Transmitter power is normal and Making troubleshooting if needed

• Use NMS ( Network Management system to access the Node remotely to verify the Reciever power is normal and Making troubleshooting if needed

Eventually, If no Error due to the Climate/interference/ ODU of TX / RX Please refer to the design Planning Team to Cjhange Links Design
