Configuring the Network Keyboard (Dahua)
This section uses Dahua network keyboard DHI-NKB3000 as an example to describe how to use a network keyboard.
Background
To obtain the usage instructions of Dahua network keyboards, log in to https://www.dahuasecurity.com/.
Prerequisites
You have connected the network interface of the network keyboard to the network where the C/S client is located, and the C/S client has started.
The Dahua network keyboard does not support TVU enabling. On the C/S client, the Enable TVU (restart required) check box is deselected under Settings > Local Parameters.
Configuring the Network Keyboard
Power on the network keyboard. The MODE window shown in Figure 1 is displayed.

Click GENERAL. The user login window is displayed.
Set User Name and Password, and click OK. (The default values of both the user name and password are admin.) The MAIN MENU window is displayed.
(Optional) Choose ACCOUNT > Add User to add a user, or choose ACCOUNT > Modify PW to change the user password.
Set basic network keyboard parameters.
Choose SETTING > NETWORK.The NETWORK window is displayed.
Set Network Type to LAN.
Set the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and TCP Port parameters, as shown in Figure 2.

NOTE:
Use the default values of Preferred DNS and Alternate DNS.
Click Save.
Click Logout. The system returns to the MAIN MENU window.
Click Back. The system returns to the MODE window.
Setting Network Keyboard Parameters on the C/S Client
Log in to the C/S client as the admin user, and double-click Settings, as shown in Figure 3.

On the tab page that is displayed, click the Local Parameters tab.
Set network keyboard parameters, as shown in Figure 4.

Select Enable network keyboard, and set the Vendor and Port parameters (18805).
(Optional) Select Network keyboard authentication and click Set Parameters. Then, set the authentication parameters, including User name, Password, and Keyboard IP.
NOTE:
To enhance service security, you are advised to enable network keyboard authentication.
The user name and password are used for network keyboard authentication. They must be the same as those set on the network keyboard in 1.b.
Click Save.
Setting C/S Client Parameters on the Network Keyboard
On the network keyboard, set the parameters for connecting to the C/S client.
In the MODE window, click HW PLAT.
Set the parameters shown in Figure 5. Table 1 describes the parameters.

IP address of the PC where the C/S client is installed.
Port
Communication port of the network keyboard. Port 18805 is used as an example here.
User Name
User name and password for connecting to the C/S client. They must be the same as those set on the C/S client for authenticating the network keyboard.
Password
Auth Type
Authentication mode. The options are as follows:
HMAC-SHA256: HMAC-SHA256 authentication. When cipher-based authentication is required between the network keyboard and the C/S client, use this mode, where you need to select Network Keyboard Authentication and set authentication parameters.
NONE: no authentication required. If this mode is used, you do not need to enter the user name and password or enable network keyboard authentication on the C/S client.
TimeInterval
Reconnection interval, in seconds. If the keyboard is disconnected from the surveillance platform, the keyboard will send a connection instruction to the platform every 10s (20s or 30s configurable) until the keyboard is successfully connected to the surveillance platform.
Click Login. The HW PLAT window shown in Figure 6 is displayed.

Operating the Network Keyboard
Set a keyboard shortcut value for each camera.
Log in to the C/S client as the admin user and access the Live tab page.
In the Cameras panel, right-click a camera and choose Set Key Value to set or change the keyboard shortcut value, as shown in Figure 7.

NOTE:
This step sets the keyboard shortcut values of six cameras to 1 to 6.
You can right-click a camera group and choose Display > Key value from the shortcut menu. Keyboard shortcut values are automatically generated for the cameras in the camera group.
Use the network keyboard to view live video, as shown in Figure 8.

In the HW PLAT window, click KEYPAD.A keypad is displayed in the right pane of the window.
Choose 0 > Mon > Live video pane No. > Win > Camera keyboard shortcut value > (CAM). Table 2 describes the parameters. Here 0 > Mon > 3 > Win > 1 > (CAM) is used as an example.
Mode of displaying live video. The value "0+Mon" indicates that live video is displayed on the C/S client. The value "1+Mon" indicates that live video is displayed on the video wall.
Win
Number of the live video pane or video wall pane on the C/S client .
(CAM)
Keyboard shortcut value set in 1 for an online camera.
Live video from camera 1 is displayed in live video pane 3 on the C/S client, as shown in Figure 9.

Click SHOT or press the button on the top of the keyboard joystick to take a snapshot of the live video and store the snapshot to the PC and server, as shown in Figure 10.

Click RECORD. Then, click to start manual recording, as shown in Figure 11.

NOTE:
You can click to stop manual recording. Other buttons ( or or or ) are unavailable currently.
In the keypad, choose 1 > Mon > 1 > Win > 4 > (CAM) and 1 > Mon > 2 > Win > 2 > (CAM). Live video from cameras 4 and 2 is displayed on displays 1 and 2 respectively of the video wall.
In the keypad, choose Live video pane number > Win to select a live video pane and the camera that is playing video in this pane, and then use the network keyboard to perform PTZ controls on this camera, as shown in Figure 12.

In the HW PLAT window, click PTZ.The PTZ control panel is displayed in the right pane of the window.
Click the arrow keys or rotate the keyboard joystick to control the PTZ rotation direction.
Click the focus keys or turn the keyboard joystick knob to adjust the camera's focal length.
Click Set.The panel for setting a preset position is displayed in the right pane of the window.
On the preset position setting page, set Preset and Patrol No. to the preset position name and number (you can later select the preset position number to invoke the preset position) and click Set to add the preset position, as shown in Figure 13.

In the HW PLAT window, click KEYPAD.A keypad is displayed in the right pane of the window.
Click the preset position number and then Preset to invoke the preset position.

Setting Network Keyboard Parameters on the C/S Client

On the tab page that is displayed, click the Local Parameters tab.
Set network keyboard parameters, as shown in Figure 4.

Select Enable network keyboard, and set the Vendor and Port parameters (18805).

Port

Operating the Network Keyboard
