This post explains how to reset configuration/restore the default factory settings on a Huawei switch. Please read further down for details.
USING THE RESET BUTTON
If you press and hold the PNP button for more than 6s, the device restores the default settings and restarts automatically.
Only the S2720-EI, S5720I-SI, S5720-LI, S5735-L, S5735S-L, S5735S-L-M, S5720S-LI, S5730-HI, S5730S-EI, S5730-SI, S5731-H, S5731-S, S5731S-H, S5731S-S, S6720-LI, S6720S-LI, S6720S-SI, and S6720-SI support this operation.
USING CLI
1. Configure an IP on the computer from the 192.168.1.0 /24 network;
2. Connect an Ethernet cable from your PC to the interface 0/0/1 or 0/0/2 from the switch;
3. Hold down the reset button for at least 6 seconds;
4. Ping 192.168.1.253 to test the connectivity.
If the ping is working, it means that you can reach the default IP address of VLANIF1.
You can run the reset saved-configuration command and then restart the device to restore the default factory settings.
<Huawei> reset saved-configuration
Warning: The action will delete the saved configuration in the device.
The configuration will be erased to reconfigure. Continue? [Y/N]: y
