Hello everyone! today I would like to share the way how to replace an ONT:

An ONT must get replaced if it's faulty or its hardware must be upgraded, however the sort of the ONT remains identical once the replacement.

So the way to replace AN ONT?

Replace AN ONT onsite.

1- take away the optical fiber from the ONT and also the cable from the port.

2- Replace the ONT. and then connect the removed optical fiber with cable.

3- Log in to the ONT web content to assemble the ONT data.

A. Modify the ONT authentication data.

If the ONT is documented by word, password+SN, LOID, or LOID+CHECKCODE, modify the word, LOID, or CHECKCODE of the ONT and make sure that they're identical as those before the replacement.

If the ONT is documented by serial number, you are doing not got to modify its serial number once the replacement.

NOTE:

Each ONU has distinctive serial number (SN), that is designed before industrial plant delivery and can't be modified.

B. Assemble the ONT service knowledge (Optional).

If the ONT service knowledge like the Wi-Fi authentication data is designed on the ONT web content, you would like to assemble such knowledge once more once the replacement.

NOTE:

If the NMS is employed within the live network, you are doing not got to assemble the service knowledge once more as a result of the NMS can issue the first knowledge.

Log in to the OLT and modify the ONT authentication data.

Run the ont modify (gpon) command to alter the atomic number 50 in order that the ONT authentication data designed on the OLT is that the same as that on the ONT.

NOTE:

You can run display ont autofind command to question  the mechanically discovered serial number (SN) and so amendment the serial number (SN).
