Hello there!
Removing a DIMM
2. Determine the rack and chassis numbers of the server to be removed and label its panel to prevent misoperations.
4. Remove all external cables, such as power and network cables.
8. Remove the full-height full-length riser cards (if they are installed). For details, see Removing the Riser Card.
10. Open the two fixing clips on the DIMM slot simultaneously. See step (1) in Figure 1.
Installing a DIMM
Install a DIMM to replace the original one or add a new DIMM.
The rules for installing DIMMs are as follows:
- The 5288 V3 in dual-CPU configuration provides 16 double data rate 4 (DDR4) DIMM slots;
- Each memory riser integrates two memory channels.
Steps
2. Remove the DIMM to be replaced or remove the DIMM filler from the slot where a new DIMM is to be installed. The method for removing a DIMM filler is the same as that for removing a DIMM. For details, see Removing a DIMM.
3. Take the spare DIMM out of the memory riser box.
4. Open the two fixing clips on the DIMM slot simultaneously. See Figure 2.

5. Align the DIMM with the DIMM slot and insert the DIMM into the slot. See
Figure 3.
6. The two fixing clips close automatically.
