How to recover the password of the switch S5720 28X LI AC?

This post enquires about how to recover the password of the switch S5720 28X LI AC. Please see below.

I do not know the password of the switch, how do I recover it to default?

Hi Amaranto,

You can clear the console port password through the BootROM menu. The method is as follows:

When "Press Ctrl+B to enter BootROM menu:" is displayed during the switch startup, the switch has started the BootROM program. Press Ctrl+B within 3 seconds to access the BootLoad menu.

          BootROM  MENU

    1. Boot with default mode
    2. Enter serial submenu
    3. Enter startup submenu
    4. Enter ethernet submenu
    5. Enter filesystem submenu
    6. Enter password submenu
    7. Clear password for console user
    8. Reboot
    (Press Ctrl+E to enter diag menu) 

Enter your choice(1-8): 7
Note: Clear password for console user? Yes or No(Y/N): y
Clear password for console user successfully. Choose "1" to boot, then set a new password.
Note: Do not choose "8. Reboot" or power off the device, 
otherwise this operation will not take effect.


By the way, it's convenient to use the iknow to quickly query the default account and password of the network devices or find the way to clear the password.

you can reboot the device and get into the BOOT ROM menue with CTR+B at the begining of booting;
and the choose cleare password for console user, then reboot under the tips, it will recovery the default password.

i have huawei s5700-28x-li-24s-ac switch how can i recover it default password.. i have tried the booting procces but password which is default its not working

If you can't connect to Bootrom, I'm afraid you can't recover this switch anymore.

@Moderator, do you have information which password is default for BootRom on S5720?
