It crucial in planning stage to arrange rack & sub rack layout accordingly. In DWDM project, for day 1 only 1 & 2 wavelength were added depending on the how big of the network. This is to allow for link test (BERT or RFC2544) to be done and covered every span of the network to confirm equipment and fiber core in good conditions. To avoid rack & sub rack become messy it is important to organize rack base on direction and sub rack installed reserve the OTUs slot for future top up.
By organizing both rack sub rack accordingly, new top up will minimize site activity and installation material and this can speed project rollout. In addition, site or room will be tidy and easy for O&M.
Customer & Huawei will enjoy the benefits.

•The rack layout as showed is the guidelines to customer to ensure quality.
•If customer have issue on room space or budget issue, our product can be compress.
•There are always have advantage & disadvantage in every solution suggested. Let customer to decide and as a vendor we should highlight the necessary points.
Network Diagram: Wavelength Allocation for Day 1

Example for wavelength allocation for Day 1.

1.The example of the wavelength allocation to ensure all span were covered during link test.
2.FOADM & ROADM basic functioned need to be tested during link test to ensure its capability to add, drop & pass thru.
3.As a vendor, we need to follow customer for their service mapping and if item 1 & 2 not meet it is important for us to suggest in order to confirm network functioned properly during implementation stage.
