Hello, everyone!
This post will tell you one issue for How to Monitor the OptiX OSN 900A and OSN 3500 Equipment with the Same T2000.
Problem description:
In an equipment room, there are seven sets of OptiX OSN 900A equipment and one set of OptiX OSN 3500 equipment. The customer requires HUAWEI to use a set of T2000 to manage all the equipment in a unified manner. The seven sets of OptiX OSN 900A equipment are already connected to the T2000 but switches and hubs are unavailable.
Handling procedure:
NA.
Root cause:
NA.
Solution:
1. The OptiX OSN 900A uses the TCP/IP protocol. For example, in a network that consists of only OptiX OSN 900A equipment, all the equipment need be created as gateway NEs on the T2000. In this case, you can ping any of the OptiX OSN 900A equipment in the network on the PC where the T2000 is installed.
2. The OptiX OSN 900A equipment does not support the HWECC mode and it does not have any board such as the LAM of the OptiX Metro 6100 equipment to access monitoring signals from the OptiX OSN 900A equipment. Thus, the OptiX OSN 900A equipment cannot work as gateway NE of the OptiX OSN 3500 equipment. In addition, the OptiX OSN 900A does not support the extended ECC. 3. The ETH1 and ETH2 interfaces on the SCC board of the OptiX OSN 900A are equal to Layer 2 switches. The two interfaces can access the T2000 and can be cascaded.
Solution 1: Connect the OptiX OSN 3500 and the OptiX OSN 900A to the same hub or switch and set the OptiX OSN 3500 as a gateway NE. This solution, however, limited by the onsite conditions, cannot be implemented.
Solution 2: Connect the Ethernet port of the PC where the T2000 is installed to the ETH1 interface of the OptiX OSN 900A1. Cascade other OptiX OSN 900A equipment through the ETH1 and ETH2 interfaces. Then, after the cascading, the ETH2 interface of the OptiX OSN 900A2 is connected to the AUX board of the OptiX OSN 3500.
PC―OSN 900A (1)―OSN 900A (2)―OSN 900A (3)―OSN 900A (4)―OSN 900A (5)―OSN 900A (6)―OSN 900A (7)―OSN 3500
The customer implements solution 2 and then can ping through the OptiX 0SN 3500 on the PC and can successfully set the OptiX OSN 3500 as the gateway NE. Hence, the problem is solved.
That's all, I welcome everyone to leave a message and exchange in the comment area!
Thank you!
