This post enquires about the procedure of how to monitor RTN 950 using non-Huawei NMS. Please see more details below.


Huawei OPtIX RTN950


ISSUE DESCRIPTION


Can we manage or monitor the performance of OPtIX RTN950 using non-Huawei NMS? For example I tried to manage the RTN 950 using SNMPc (product of Castlerock). If yes, how to configure the equipment?

Hello. We have been trying to monitor HUAWEI RTN980 through NMS SOLARWINDS. Although HUAWEI RTN 980 in principle supports SNMPv2,.there is no interoperability with SOLARWINDS NMS. Can you please provide feedback? Has there been any case monitoring and managing HUAWEI RTN980 via a non HUAWEI NMS?

You should check the document of Zabbix, and make sure if It can manage RTN980? at first.

Hello. In theory ZABBIX as well as SOLARWINDS do support SNMP management and should provide monitoring of HUAWEI RTN 950. but I don't have the correct HUAWEI RTN configuration (OIDs) so that we can integrate RTN into a non HUAWEI NMS
Can you help?

Yes, The rule is the same.

The data of the OptiX RTN 950 is transmitted to the non-Huawei NMS through SNMP.

But how to do, sorry, we do not do this.

Can you add the RTN950 to ZABBIX like others device you use it to manage?
