Hello, Dear Colleagues.

Recently, I got the curiosity to know. How can I migrate a VM running on VMWare (ESXi) to FusionSphere in case ESXi fails?

Hello,
It depends on the versions you are using. You may refer to the following product documentation and add the hypervisor first using FusionManager.

Add a hypervisor to FusionManager.

A hypervisor is the software that virtualizes computing, network, and storage resources. For example, FusionCompute is a Huawei hypervisor. The virtual resources used and managed by FusionManager are virtualized by the hypervisor.
  • The resources virtualized by a FusionCompute hypervisor are managed by its Virtual Resource Management (VRM) node, the resources virtualized by a VMware hypervisor are managed by its vCenter Server.

  • FusionManager supports a maximum of 255 hypervisors.

  • One hypervisor cannot connect to one FusionManager system twice or be incorporated by multiple FusionSphere systems.

After installing and configuring FusionManager, select the required driver version from the hypervisor to be connected on FusionManager and add a hypervisor to FusionManager, enabling FusionManager to manage and use virtual resources on the hypervisor. Before adding a VMware hypervisor, ensure that you have installed the VMware software development kit (SDK). For details about how to install the VMware SDK, see Appendix > FAQ > Installing the VMware SDK Toolkit in the Installing the VMware SDK Toolkit.
