Installing the Huawei SMC2.0
1: First of all login to operating system as administrator then copy the SMC2.0 installation package to the server where the SMC2.0 installed. (Installation package is SmcInstall.exe)
2: For decompress, Double click SmcInstall.exe then click Extract in decompress window.
3: Run as administrator by Right-click Setup.bat file in the SmcInstall directory.
Hardening the SMC2.0 server is recomended after complete installation of Huawei SMC2.0
(If the SMC2.0 is not hardened, it will be weak to attacks from malicious programs)
Hardening needs to be performed for the IIS, database and OS.
After Hardened the SMC2.0 sever following changes will be occurred:
User cannot remotely access the SMC2.0 server because the remote login service is disabled.
The sharing service is disabled, so the files on the SMC2.0 server cannot be shared.
The user name for logging in to the operating system changes to SWMaster.
Hardening steps
Go to the SMC2.0 installation directory. Default: (D:\Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd\Tools\SecureSMC)
Right click SecureSMC.bat and choose Run as administrator. (After hardening is complete the SMC2.0 server automatically restarts)
Re-login to the SMC2.0 server as the SWMaster user with the password that is used to login to the SMC2.0 server before the hardening.
(After installation check the services that determines the server SMC2.0 can run properly.
Chekcing procedure: Choose Start>Administrator Tools>Server manager>Configuration>Services and check whether the services are started. The services are determine whether the SMC2.0 server can run properly.)
If any of services is not started, select the service, right-click it, and choose Start from the shortcut menu.
Check whether you can login to SMC2.0 properly.
After all done the SMC2.0 istalled succesful.
