How to implement multiple 2M 24-hour bit error test for SDH ring network?

Normally, we need to conduct a 24-hour error code test on the 2M channel before starting the 2M service, as shown in the following figure:

If the equipment on the ring network needs to use one 2M channel, can it test all the 2M channels of all network elements in 24 hours at once?

Hi Wassim.

If you want to check E1 board like PQ1 and the whole network at once, u can check many E1s at once but u should make a trick .
U should connect Tx of 1st E1 in 1st PQ1 to tester and Rx of last PQ1 E1no. 63 to tester then make hardware conection for Rx of 1st E1 to Tx of 2nd then
Rx of 2nd to Tx of 3rd E1 then
Rx of 3nd to Tx of 4th E1 and so on to the 63 E1.

Then u can continue connection to the 2nd Pq1 the same way
Then make configuration for all E1s from PQ1 boards to pass through all NEs in the ring then make loop for E1s in The destinatin NE .for PQ1 boards for all E1 .
Now u can apply test for 1 time for many E1s at once .

If you want to test the E1 in the ring to make sure that the line is working normally and the protection is working well , testing 1 E1 is enough and can give u clear understanding for network state .
u can configure 1 E1 to pass through all NEs then loop it at last NE then test for 24h , that could be done by 24 BRPS test or E1 tester .
U can also make switch for the whole ring and test protection using the same E1 .

1- We can use the single-station method to configure the SNCP service of the same VC12 time slot on the four network elements A, B, C, and D to the 2M channel of the tributary board to be used. It is best to use manual configuration here, requiring each site The direction of the work service and the protection service must be consistent. For example, the A network element uses the east direction for work and the west direction for protection. The B, C, D network elements must also be configured consistently. Or we can manually configure two one-way data: the east light board points to the branch channel (receiving signal), and the branch channel points to the west light board (signaling). This configuration is to control the consistent selective reception direction of services.

2- Perform physical hard loopback on the 2M channels at points B, C, and D, and test the 2M channel watch at point A. Before testing, you can disconnect the 2M channels at points B, C, and D to see if the meter shows that the signal is blocked. Confirm that the signal passes each point before testing.

For Single E1: Given physical/loogical loop if support at one station- connect a BER tester setting for 24 hours at other station- will show you ES, SES etc. Some SDH equpment might support built in 2M performance measurementh  though EMS.

For Mutiple E1: You can think STM1 link performance though EMS/STM1 tester.
