Keywords:
Battery, POWER_FAIL (alarm parameter 0x5)
Summary:
The battery power of the system control board is exhausted after long-term board operating under high temperature, and the board reports a POWER_FAIL alarm (alarm parameter 0x5). The issue can be resolved by replacing the board or batteries, or the software can be upgraded for prevention.
[Problem Description]
Trigger condition:
The system control board runs properly under a temperature higher than 50°C.
Symptom:
After long-term operating, the system control board transiently or continuously reports the POWER_FAIL alarm (alarm parameter 0x5).
Identification method:
The 0x5 parameter of the POWER_FAIL alarm indicates that the battery power is exhausted.
[Root Cause]
Currently, the system control board uses two types of batteries: primary cell (irreplaceable) and coin battery (replaceable). If the system control board undergoes a power failure, the batteries supply power to the system time module and database cache module. After the system control board recovers from the power failure, the primary power supply system provides all power supplies to the system control board, and the batteries do not need to function.
