How to Handle Optical Interface's failure to go up

Hey Everyone,

some times when you connecting the switch to the switch uplinks optical interface won't come up.

below are some points to troubleshoot.

1. Check whether the two interfaces are using Huawei-certified optical transceivers

   
   

2. Check whether the optical fibers match the optical transceivers.

   Multimode fibers must be used with multimode transceivers, while single-mode fibers must be used with single-mode transceivers.

   
   

   
   

   

   

3. Check whether the optical transceivers are supported on the local and remote interfaces.

   An interface cannot use an optical transceiver with a higher speed than itself. For example, a 100 Megabit optical interface cannot use a 1000 Megabit optical transceiver.

   
   

4. Perform a loopback test.

   Connect two ends of an optical fiber to the same optical transceiver and check whether the interface can go up. 

   
   

5.  Replace the optical fiber and optical transceiver.

   
   

6. Contact Huawei, technical support engineers.(Last step)

Perform all above steps to troubleshoot.
