How to Get Your Wi-Fi Password
When we need to access a Wi-Fi network or forget the Wi-Fi password, what can we do to obtain the password?
1. Check whether the Wi-Fi password of the ONT has been changed. The default Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password of the ONT are displayed on its nameplate.
2. If the Wi-Fi password has been changed, you can log into the Huawei ONT web page using your PC by wired login. Choose the Advanced Configuration > WLAN tab and choose 2.4G Basic Network Settings. (If you want to configure 5G Wi-Fi, choose 5G Basic Network Settings.).
3. If your computer (such as Win7 OS or Win10 OS ) is connected to Wi-Fi.
a. Right-click the network icon on the toolbar and select “open network and sharing center.”
b. In the resulting window, click “Change adapter settings,” right-click on the Wi-Fi network, and select “status” on the drop-down menu.
c. In the resulting pop-up window, select “Wireless Properties,” then click on the Security tab.
d. You should see a check box beside “show characters.” Check this box to reveal your password.
Note: Windows 10 refers to this as a network security key instead of a password.
How to change your Wi-Fi password
1.Log into the Huawei ONT web page using your mobile phone, pad, or PC. Choose the Advanced Configuration > WLAN tab and choose 2.4G Basic Network Settings. (If you want to configure 5G Wi-Fi, choose 5G Basic Network Settings).
Wi-Fi Password Security
In today's society, criminals create fake Wi-Fi hotspots or use tools to crack other people's Wi-Fi passwords for Internet access monitoring. If the criminals succeed, they may steal the bank accounts and online payment account passwords of users. So we need to keep the password Wi-Fi secure.
1. The WiF password must be long enough. Generally, the password consists of digits, letters, and special characters.
2. Do not tell the Wi-Fi password to others unless necessary. Change the password periodically.
3. Do not use the Wi-Fi password cracking tool unless necessary. Once you install this app on your device, all the Wi-Fi passwords you have saved may be disclosed.
