1 Create Ethernet OAM
1.1 Crea****
Procedure:
l Selectthe NE from the Object Tree in the NE Explorer. Choose Configuration > Ethernet OAM Management > Ethernet Service OAMManagement from the Function Tree.
l Clickthe Maintenance Association tab.
l ChooseNew > New Maintenance Domain.
The system displays the New Maintenance Domaindialog box.
l Setthe parameters of the MD.

Remark:Required in the case of the NEs where the twoEthernet ports involved in the service test are located. Set the parameters asfollows::
- Set Maintenance Domain Name and Maintenance Domain Level to the same values for the two NEs.
- In the test of an Ethernet service between two edge nodes on the transport network, it is recommended that Maintenance Domain Level takes the default value 4. In the test of an Ethernet service between two internal NEs on the transport network, set Maintenance Domain Level to a value smaller than 4. In the test of an Ethernet service between two Ethernet ports on the same NE, set Maintenance Domain Level to a value smaller than the value that is set in the test of an Ethernet service between two internal NEs on the transport network.
Procedure:
l Selectthe NE from the Object Tree in the NE Explorer. Choose Configuration> Ethernet OAM Management > Ethernet Service OAM Managementfrom the Function Tree.
l Clickthe Maintenance Associationtab.
l Selectthe maintenance domain in which a maintenance association needs to be created.Choose New > New Maintenance Association.
The system displays the New MaintenanceAssociation dialog box.
l Setthe parameters of the MA.

Remark:Required in the case of the NE where the Ethernet portsinvolved in the service test are located. Set the parameters as follows:
· Set Maintenance DomainName to the value of MaintenanceDomain Name that is set in the previous step.
· Set MaintenanceAssociation Name to the same value for the NEs for which OAM operationsare performed.
· Set Relevant Serviceto the same service for the NEs for which OAM operations are performed.
1.3 Creat MEP
Procedure:
l Selectthe NE from the Object Tree in the NE Explorer. Choose Configuration> Ethernet OAM Management > Ethernet Service OAM Managementfrom the Function Tree.
l Clickthe Maintenance Associationtab.
l Selectthe maintenance association in which an MEP needs to be created. Choose New > New MEPPoint.
The system displays the New MEP Pointdialog box.
l Setthe parameters of the MEP point.

Remark:Requiredin the case of the NE where the Ethernet ports involved in the service test arelocated. Set the parameters as follows:
· Set MaintenanceAssociation Name to the value of MaintenanceAssociation Name that is set in the previous step.
· Set Boardand Portto the board and port where the OAM operation is started or terminated.
· Set VLANto a VLAN. The settings of the source and sink MEPs must be the same.
· In the same MA, the value of MP ID must be unique.
· If the traffic flow between the MEPs that perform theOAM operation is towards the packet switching unit, the direction is set to Ingress. Otherwise, thedirection is set to Egress.Generally, the ETH OAM function is applied to end-to-end maintenance of acertain service. Thus, Directionis always set to Ingressfor the MPs.(picture 1)

· If the sink maintenance point is identified based on theMP ID, CC Statusmust be set to Active.
· If several MDs exist on links, to locate a faultaccurately, activate the AIS Active Statusand set Client Layer Levelthat functions to suppress the AIS information.

1.4 Creat Remote MEP in an MA
Procedure:
l Selectthe NE from the Object Tree in the NE Explorer. Choose Configuration> Ethernet OAM Management > Ethernet Service OAM Managementfrom the Function Tree.
l Clickthe Maintenance Associationtab.
l ChooseOAM > Manage Remote MEP Point. Then, the Manage Remote MEP Pointdialog box is displayed.
l ClickNew.
Then, the Add MaintenanceAssociation Remote Maintenance Point dialog box is displayed.
l Setthe parameters of the new remote MEPs.

Remark:Required in the case of the NE where the Ethernet portsinvolved in the OAM operation are located. Set the parameters as follows:
· Set Maintenance DomainName to the value of MaintenanceDomain Name that is set in the first step.
· Set MaintenanceAssociation Name to the value of MaintenanceAssociation Name that is set in the second step.
· If other MEPs may initiate OAM operations to an MEP inthe same MA, set the other MEPs to be the remote MEPs.
1.5 Creat MIP
Procedure:
l Selectthe NE from the Object Tree in the NE Explorer. Choose Configuration> Ethernet OAM Management > Ethernet Service OAM Managementfrom the Function Tree.
l Clickthe MIP Pointtab.
l Selectthe maintenance domain in which an MIP needs to be created, and then click New.
Then, the New MIP Maintenance Pointdialog box is displayed.
l Setthe parameters of the new MIP.

Remark:Required when youneed to perform LT tests and divide the faulty part into sections.
· Set Maintenance DomainName to the value of MaintenanceDomain Name that is set in the first step.
· Set Boardand Portto the board and port through which the Ethernet service passes.
· In the same MA, the value of MP ID must be unique.
2 Using the 802.1ag OAM
2.1 Performing a CC Test
After the continuity check (CC) test, theunidirectional link status can be checked automatically and periodically. Ifthe link is fault after the CC test is started at the source end, the sinkequipment reports the corresponding alarm.
2.2 Performing an LB Test
During a loopback (LB) test, you can check thebidirectional connectivity between the source MEP and any MEP in the samemaintenance association (MA).
<a name="tt_rtn900_fd_0510__1.4.1">2.3 Performing an LT Test
Basedon the LB test, the link trace (LT) test further improves the capability tolocate faults. That is, the faulty network segment can be located according tothe MIP through only one test.
<a name="tt_rtn900_fd_0511__1.4.1">Prerequisites
· Youmust be an NM user with NE operatorauthority or higher.
· Thesource and sink MEPs in the same MD must be created.
· Theremote MEPs must be created.
· TheCC function must be enabled.
Background Information
· OnlyMEPs can initiate the LT test and work as the termination point in the test.
· Duringthe LT test, the source MEP constructs and transmits the LTM frames and startsthe timer. All the MPs that receive the LTM frames send the LTR frame response.According to the LTR frame response, you can verify all the MIPs that pass fromthe source MEP to the sink MEP.
· Performingan LT test does not affect the services.
Procedure
1. Selectthe NE from the Object Tree in the NE Explorer. Choose Configuration > Ethernet OAM Management > Ethernet Service OAMManagement from the Function Tree.
2. Clickthe Maintenance Association tab.
3. Selectthe maintenance domain and maintenance association for the LT test.
4. ChooseOAM > Start LT.
Then, the LT Test dialog box is displayed.
5. Selectthe method for identifying the destination MP and set the parameters involvedin the LT test.

LT Test Succeed

LT Test Fail
1、CC is ok,but the mac for rmep havn’tknow.

2、LT Test Overtime:
