Hello,

I keep seeing an unsecured network called WirelessNet in my Wi-Fi list (on my phone, laptop, etc.).

After some research, I've discovered that it belongs to my HG8121H router.

The problem is that I can't find it anywhere in my router settings.

I only find the secured network that I've configured. But no sign of WirelessNet anywhere.

Does anyone know where I can find it and how to disable it?

Thank you!

Dear conectionist!

Please click the WLAN tab, and choose 2.4G Basic Network Settings from the navigation tree on the left. In the right pane. Check if there is data with the name "WirelessNet" in the SSID list, if so, please select it, and then uncheck it in the SSID activation setting box. Or just click "Delete". Then Click Apply.

If it cannot be changed, it means that the ISP has restricted the function of modifying the SSID. Please contact your ISP and apply for them to modify the settings for you remotely.

Thank you!

ANSWER

1. In most cases, the default user name for logging in to the web page is root, the password is admin and the IP address is 192.168.100.1. However, for security reasons, the default password or IP address may have been changed before delivery. The nameplate prevails. Enter the IP address in the address bar of your browser.

2. Enter the default login account and password on the nameplate on the rear of the ONT and click Login.

3. In the navigation tree on the left, choose WLAN > WLAN Basic Configuration. In the pane on the right, select the Enable WLAN option box. In the dialog box that is displayed, deselect Broadcast SSID.

SSID

4. Click Apply

@Unicef
Thank you for your answer.
But the problem is that WirelessNet is not present in the list.
I can only see my manually configured network (let's just call it MyNet).
That's the puzzling part. It appears on the list of WiFi I can connect to when I look on my phone or laptop.
But it doesn't appear my router settings.

@Anatoliy_S
I've reset everything to default, but the WirelessNet still doesn't appear in my router settings.
Only my default wifi network (which has the name that's written on the bottom of the router).

Is there anything else I can try?

@conectionist
it's strange bag if it so as you said. Are you sure this WirelessNet on your router? Has it dissapeared then you shutdown the router?

If yes, the last thing, I can offer - is reinstall firmware on the router or upload the newest, probably this bag resolved in new router firmware version.
