How to Determine Whether FIB Entries Exceed the Specifications?

When the number of routes exceeds the upper limit, FIB entries cannot be sent to the lower-layer forwarding chip. As a result, some service traffic cannot be forwarded. Different types of boards have different FIB specifications. The system uses the minimum FIB specifications provided by a board.

The display fib slot-id statistics [ all ] command displays the FIB specifications of a board.

<HUAWEI> display fib 3 statistics all
IPv4 FIB Route Prefix Capacity : 16384 //FIB specifications of the board
IPv4 FIB Total Route Prefix Count : 21; Entry Count : 21 //Number of used FIB entries

IPv4 FIB Public Route Prefix Count : 16; Entry Count : 16
IPv4 FIB VPN-instance 1 Route Prefix Count : 1; Entry Count : 1
IPv4 FIB VPN-instance SHMC_IMS Route Prefix Count : 1; Entry Count : 1
IPv4 FIB VPN-instance hwh Route Prefix Count : 1; Entry Count : 1
IPv4 FIB VPN-instance mlj Route Prefix Count : 1; Entry Count : 1
IPv4 FIB VPN-instance test Route Prefix Count : 1; Entry Count : 1
