Hello, everyone!
In this post, I would like to share with you how to Determine the Maximum Number of ECC Connections Supported by the OSN SCC.
Due to the limited processing capability of the SCC, the maximum number of ECC channels supported by the OSN NE software may be inconsistent with the maximum number of ECC connections supported by the actual hardware. For instance, the NE software of R1 or R1 supports a maximum of 40 ECC channels but the hardware supports a maximum of 24 ECC connections only, that is, ECC communications are available on 24 optical interfaces only.
How to determine the maximum number of ECC connections supported by the SCC of a certain version?
Check the .ini file in the software package. Take the N3GSCC of the OSN 3500 and the NE software version 5.21.16.13 as an example. The specific steps are as follows:
1. Download the NE software package of version V1R6C02B012.
2. Decompress the software package and open the SSN1GSCC_SSN3GSCC\nesoft directory.
3. Open the ne3500n3.ini file with the notepad and find the sub-item MaxConnect indicating the maximum number of connections. For instance, MaxConnect=160 indicates that this version supports a maximum of 160 ECC connections in D1-D3 mode.
4. Download the NE software packages of versions R1 and R2.
The maximum number of connections is 24 for both versions.
That's all, I hope you like it.
Thank you!
